Master on “European Journalism and Communication in Multiethnic Regions”.

October 1, 2008 marked the beginning of a Master on “European Journalism and Communication in Multiethnic Regions” at the Faculty of Political Science, Philosophy and Communication Science of the West University of Timisoara, Romania.

The Master, which was co-promoted by our Association jointly with the Romanian University, aims to prepare young journalists with special skills in communicating Europe and perform journalistic activity in regions with ethnic and linguistic minorities.

The two-year program comprises a wide range of compulsory and optional subject, both theoretical and practical.

The Master, whose director is Prof. Marcel Tolcea, president of the journalists’ group promoting the EJ Romanian section, is intended to be cross-border, involving students coming not just from Romania but from neighboring countries too and with the goal of involve young people from the entire Danube region.

Enrolled in the first year’s Master are of 35 students, who are very motivated and eager “to champion” in performing an effective and transparent European communication, making citizens more aware of the importance of the European Union and stimulating EU Institutions to come closer to the citizens.
